S.S. Life

Life is to short to hold grudges. Everyone fucks up sometimes, some fuck ups are worse than others but don't be so hard on the imperfect. Sure its alright to be mad for a little while, and also totally understandable in most situations. But no one really knows whats going on around them, even those of us who appear to have it all figured out really are just looking for answers like the rest of us. Ive messed up pretty bad before and been forgiving, haven't you. Sometimes its hard to see our elders and superiors as people like us so when they make mistakes we assume they should know better, everyone has problems and stresses out just as much as you do. Everyone is in the same sinking boat, S.S. Life and just cuz they have life jackets on doesnt mean they arent just as scared as you are.

In Between The Couch Cushions

Doesn't it fell like sometimes you lost the remote control to you life. Sometimes its just kinda like someones messing with you and all you can do is scream "what the fuck." It kinda sucks. It would be really cool if you could take a break from life, you know hit the pause button and just kinda chill for day or two or 365. Usually we actually do have control of our lives, or at least most of us do. But there is a select group of people who just have shit happen to them because of others, its like in the movie Crash when even thought the people don't know each other the very much so affect each others lives. So in reality you didn't lose your remote, you just got bitch slapped by life.

Thanksfornothing

Thanksgiving has been kinda getting kicked to the curb lately. I might be remembering wrong but when i was a kid it was more of a big deal, now as soon as halloween is over, the most comercialized of all holidays and seasons swoops in and acts like Thanksgiving doesn't exist. What the fuck! Everyone celebrates Thanksgiving in America it isn't a religeon based holiday. Not everyone celebrates christmas, maybe i would cut the winter holidays more slack but they dont even advertise for Hanukkah. But only the grocery stores make money off of Thanksgiving so it becomes the runt of the litter as far as holidays are concerned. To me giving thanks for what we have in life and appreciating our family pretty important and should be recognized more.

The bad O'l days

I wish that sometime something good could stick around for while. Yeah sure there are good moments and bad moments in life but eventually it all goes back to whatever the norm is, or at least it seems that way. If your life has always been pretty good you could have a shitty stretch but eventually it will go back to how it was, and visa versa. People always revert back to what they know, we can't help it. This is why kids end up the parents who they said they would never be like "breakfast club syndrome". Some people are just destined to have bad luck and others are destined to be fortunate. Some people just choose not to have a good life, because they know no different. They get scared I guess they cant handle the change, somewhere deep inside them they like the chaos, anguish, and misfortune

California Dreaming

As much as everything on this site is criticizing California and how it is the prostitute of our oh so noble country there isn't really any place i would have wanted to grow up. You get the best of the best and the worst of the worst. I don't know of any other place in the world where you where you can show up in a five hundred dollar VW, with thirty dollars in your pocket and become a millionaire before you turn forty. Sure it might not exactly be from hard work it could all just be based on the fact that your a physically blessed person but the opportunity is still there. California is the ideal place to live the American dream as vile or immoral that may be. In the land of the richest of the rich you also get the poorest of the poor co-existing in perfect disharmony.

Hellth Nuts

I think all these people who run around detoxing, taking these shit for like 5 day diets are lil loopy. When did everyone go and become such health and germ freaks. You don't have to carry around your own personal medical cleaning splooge every where you go.You're not gunna fucking die because you touched a door handle that millions of people have also touched, its called an immune system people and your actually going to get sick if you keep doing what your doing. You don't have to believe everything Oprah says she is not God, sure you should take some lil precautions like don't lick the pavement but come on people we've gotten this far. You don't need to be so paranoid about things, go ahead eat a cheeseburger once in a while no one lives for ever! I know that the News tells you how much everything you put in your mouth will kill you and how dirty and dangerous the world is but like i said earlier we got this far haven't we, it's like that old saying "nobody gets out this life alive."

Jesus FreaK

It's kind of funny when you're just driving along on a freeway or side street and you see this typical soccer mom hauls ass passed you while flipping you off only to see that on the back of her mini van is a "Jesus Freak" or one of those little fish or doves. Correct me if I'm wrong but this just seems a little out of place, it makes me wonder what these people would be like if you were face to face, would they still flip you off because you weren't ordering fast enough at Starbucks? I'm pretty sure that part of the Christian faith is being forgiving and kind, that's not kind. Yeah i get that everyone fucks up once in a while and lets things slip but if you know that then why would you advertise to everyone on our friendly roadways how kind and forgiving you are only to be a shitty driver. I'm not very religious so maybe I'm missing something here, maybe god likes drivers to be overly assertive you tell me. I do go to church on occasion and i never heard about any of that.

Kudos To the Radiohead

Radiohead's newest album was not released in the iTunes store but instead released on there site http://www.inrainbows.com/. The best thing about this is the artist gets full profit and you just pay what you can afford from 50 cents to 200 dollars along with no digital rights management. I'm all for getting music by what ever means you please because it should be accessible to everyone, but when a group rebels against the system like this in the favor of its fans I strongly vote against stealing it. Because we all know you have 50 cents no matter how poor you are and if you don't go ask someone I'm sure they'll give it up.

Once Again Major Kudos to Radiohead
on a side note their inrainbows.com is this weeks website

Doris Selcedo

You guys cannot tell me this isn't one of the most original things your lil virgin eyes have ever seen, I mean I like to think I'm somewhat of an original guy but this towers over anything I got.

Hate The game

Why do People play these stupid games, it doesn't really make sense. We go around sending off these mixed messages and saying cryptic things to get people interested in us. Why dont we just say "hey i dig you, so if you dig me lets do something about it." Instead we play this push and pull, hard to get mysterious bullshit. It's not that i dont play this game myself, I do because you have to in order to get what you want, I just don't agree with why we play it. But in reality I guess we just have to deal with it becuase life is really just one big fucking game.

Superman and Derek Jeter

Collectibles trip me out, people take these things that in reality arent of much intrinsic value and raise them up with just the simple law of "supply and demand" . Just look at baseball cards which in reality are just small pieces of cardboard with a picture on it, or a comic books which are just paperback short stories which probably costs 25 cents to make. But people who covet these things add value to them because of how rare they are or how much we particularly want them. We end up selling a small book or a piece of cardboard for hundreds of dollars. Its things like these that make me giggle to myself on some of the twisted things that we put value to. Im not gunna point fingers and judge cuz im guilty like a lot of people, but I just think its funny how people can take something which in reality is worth shit and turn it to gold.

IQueer test

An IQ test. The Original test of ignorance used by lame ass establishments like schools the military or fuck even something you do for fun to see how "smart" you are. But I wonder how a generalized test can show how intelligent our diverse population is, people are all different in every aspect of the word. If your not good at the specific questions that are on this bias test its gunna say that your dumb, what if your not good at math but your very musically talented that doesn't make you dumb it just makes you different.
Take people like Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page, or The Beatles nobody knows or cares how well they do on an IQ test or what grades they got in high school. These people are viewed as intelligent because of there great talents in music. Does anyone care how good Van Gough did in English, no because he was a brilliant artist. People use different parts of there brain and just because the majority is good at certain things doesn’t mean that the minority are dumb. The select few who can do what most can’t like musicians or artists should be graded equally, if not have an advantage.

The way i see it Genius like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Stuffilism :P

I think Materialism is like a praying mantis; it will seduce you then eat you alive, people today put material possessions up on a pedastool. We worry to god damn much about who has nicer things than we do or who has more cash in their pocket. Then you have other retards who use possessions to fill an endless emotional void. In society today, people tend to view possessions with more regard than other aspects of life, that in reality are more important. People seem to think that what they have is who they are, it's been said, “if who I am is what I have and what I have is lost then who am I?” People are conditioned to want the unnecessary because society trains them to. People buy goods and objects to compete between their peers in some unspoken competion. Everyone is trying to make sure there TV is bigger than “Bobs.” Forget making your family or yourself happy, we need a better stereo because that is what will fulfill our lack of kindness and love! Some people seem to have this fun house mirror philosophy that having more materials or money equals happiness. God forbid you look inside yourself to see what is making you unhappy in the first place. Looking for fulfillment from family and friends is harder than buying a new pair of Gucci shoes so fuck it. Maybe people experience unhappiness because they try to change their emotions with “things” that don’t have any, just a thought.
In America especially there is an over abundance of shopping sprees and keeping up with the Jones’. People are very obsessed with what’s on you not what’s in you. Your TV being 10 inches smaller than your neighbors has no effect on your life that you don’t let it have. Someone must have handed out a revised pamphlet on the American dream and mine got lost in the mail.
You can get into a vicious cycle of buying goods to fulfill an emotional void or trying to be “better” than others. It's like Sean Covey said "he who dies with the most toys, still dies."
