Stuffilism :P

I think Materialism is like a praying mantis; it will seduce you then eat you alive, people today put material possessions up on a pedastool. We worry to god damn much about who has nicer things than we do or who has more cash in their pocket. Then you have other retards who use possessions to fill an endless emotional void. In society today, people tend to view possessions with more regard than other aspects of life, that in reality are more important. People seem to think that what they have is who they are, it's been said, “if who I am is what I have and what I have is lost then who am I?” People are conditioned to want the unnecessary because society trains them to. People buy goods and objects to compete between their peers in some unspoken competion. Everyone is trying to make sure there TV is bigger than “Bobs.” Forget making your family or yourself happy, we need a better stereo because that is what will fulfill our lack of kindness and love! Some people seem to have this fun house mirror philosophy that having more materials or money equals happiness. God forbid you look inside yourself to see what is making you unhappy in the first place. Looking for fulfillment from family and friends is harder than buying a new pair of Gucci shoes so fuck it. Maybe people experience unhappiness because they try to change their emotions with “things” that don’t have any, just a thought.
In America especially there is an over abundance of shopping sprees and keeping up with the Jones’. People are very obsessed with what’s on you not what’s in you. Your TV being 10 inches smaller than your neighbors has no effect on your life that you don’t let it have. Someone must have handed out a revised pamphlet on the American dream and mine got lost in the mail.
You can get into a vicious cycle of buying goods to fulfill an emotional void or trying to be “better” than others. It's like Sean Covey said "he who dies with the most toys, still dies."

If I ever have a collaboration of writing it would most definitely be with you.
This is the type of valuable teaching that most kids our age need to read in order to have a recollection of what being humble is all about.

Stuff.il.ism - self involvement with the useless things in life; forgetting what matters most.
